Attendance

You child's attendance at school is extremely important to their success.  When a child is absent from school they miss out on instructional time in the classroom and can easily fall behind.  Here are some ways to ensure your child gets to school every day, on time, and ready to learn.

1.       Establish a regular bed time and stick to it

Children need at least 9 hours of sleep at night.  If you child is sleepy upon waking, it may mean that they are not getting enough sleep.  When children are tired, they often have a difficult time getting up and getting to school on time.

2.       Communicate with your school staff

Be aware of what events are going on at your child's school.  If your child has a big assignment due or a test coming up.  Make sure your child is at school and ready to learn.

3.       Encourage your child to go to school

Let you child know that going to school everyday is important to their learning.  If they do not go to school they are missing out on opportunities with their    classmates.

If you have any questions about your child's attendance or need help motivating your child to come to school.  Please contact you school for assistance on these issues.
